Mind the Gap: Strategies and Emerging Options to Improve Cancer Screening

Over 600,000 Americans are estimated to die from cancer in 2022 despite advances in cancer treatment. Detecting cancer in early stages through appropriate screening is vital to improve cancer survival rates. In this activity, Eric Klein, MD discusses current early cancer screening recommendations, strengths and limitations of traditional screening methods, and strategies to improve adherence to current cancer screening recommendations. Dr Klein also provides insight into use of emerging multi-cancer early detection tests utilizing liquid biopsies to complement traditional cancer screening and ultimately improve cancer-related mortality.
