Program Description
Healthcare providers are faced with many challenges in providing optimal influenza management including dynamic seasonal influenza activity, numerous diagnostic platforms, multiple vaccine formulations, and new and established antiviral agents for treatment and chemoprophylaxis. In addition, other respiratory viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, can have similar symptomatic presentations which can confound the provider’s ability to make a clinical diagnosis and hinder the timeliness of treatment—a critical component of antiviral therapy efficacy. This interactive video lecture provides expert advice on diagnosis, treatment, and chemoprophylaxis of influenza in adult and pediatric patients at high risk for complications, including comparisons of available antiviral agents.
