program overview
Program Description
The pain of endometriosis does not necessarily correlate with lesion location, inflammatory markers, or nerve fiber density surrounding the lesions. This—combined with a tendency by providers and patients to normalize the pain—means that it can take an average of 7 to 12 years and five or more clinicians before the diagnosis is made. This activity provides expert advice on how to recognize and treat endometriosis early, before it transitions to daily, chronic pain and a centralized pain state, in addition to providing recommendations for long-term management and coordination of care.
Format
Interactive video lecture
