An expert in IBD discusses strategies to address the clinical challenges of IBD management during pregnancy and engaging patients in shared decision-making. This is the third module in a robust IBD Core Curriculum program from Clinical Care Options (CCO) and Practicing Clinicians Exchange (PCE).

Target Audience

This program is intended for the IBD care team including gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers that specialize in gastroenterology, internal medicine and family medicine physicians and advanced practice providers, nurses and other HCPs involved in the care of patients living with IBD.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this multicomponent, multiformat curriculum is to improve the knowledge and competence of community HCPs who care for patients living with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explore strategies for the management of IBD in women who are pregnant/lactating or planning to become pregnant

  • Engage patients in their IBD management with a shared decision-making approach
