Patients and their caregivers are important members of the healthcare team requiring education; engaged and informed patients are better able to participate in treatment decisions and act as advocates to optimize their experience with cancer treatments and beyond. In this video, 2 advanced practice providers and 2 cancer survivors discuss key takeaways from a patient education session during a PCE live event covering strategies for improving patient and provider dialogue, takeaways on becoming an expert patient including identifying reliable sources of information, and survivorship programs after completion of cancer therapy.
