This activity is intended for U.S. primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician associates.
The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize the diagnosis and treatment for patients with obesity.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Identify key factors that contribute to weight gain and challenge sustained weight loss
Develop strategies that aim to destigmatize the diagnosis and management of obesity in primary care
Apply shared decision-making techniques to engage patients for successful long-term obesity management
Compare the latest clinical evidence for current and emerging pharmacotherapy treatments for obesity
Design individualized treatment plans using evidence-based pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments for the long-term management of patients with obesity
Evaluate practical approaches to enhance patient-centered obesity management in primary care
