Goal Statement
The goal of this program is to improve healthcare professionals’ competence and effectiveness at overcoming barriers in offering and providing PrEP for all adult and adolescent candidates. 

Target Audience
This program is intended for registered nurses, physician associates/physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals who care for persons at risk of HIV acquisition.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the barriers that are responsible for current suboptimal uptake of PrEP for principal populations including adolescents, cisgender women, racial and ethnic minority MSM, and transgender men and women
  • Assess regimen options, user-related factors, and common misconceptions when determining candidacy and optimal regimens for principal populations
  • Implement strategies to improve PrEP uptake in underserved at-risk populations, addressing social and logistical barriers
