Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in guideline-informed, evidence-based management of patients with PAH. 

Target Audience
This proposed educational program is intended for cardiology and pulmonary NPs and PAs who care for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Determine patient need for guideline-directed diagnostic work-up for PAH based on clinical presentation
  • Construct a guideline-directed, personalized initial treatment plan for a patient with PAH
  • Outline evidence for emerging therapy approaches under investigation for management of PAH
  • Apply communication strategies that support shared decision making with patients and personalization of PAH management plans

The goal of this activity is to improve knowledge, competence, and performance of NPs and PAs in the pathophysiology, disease state awareness, optimal management to reduce exacerbations and hospitalizations, and emerging therapies for COPD

Target Audience
This proposed educational program is intended for pulmonary specialty and primary care NPs/PAs who care for patients with COPD.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:  

  • Describe prevalence and pathophysiology of COPD
  • Evaluate current and emerging therapies for COPD based on their impact on disease outcomes and patient preferences
  • Develop an individualized treatment plan for COPD maintenance therapy considering patient variables, therapeutic options, and 2023 GOLD guideline recommendations, and emerging evidence 
  • Implement strategies to manage comorbidities of patients with COPD within a multidisciplinary framework
