Goal Statement
To improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of primary care physicians, NPs, and PAs in application of evidence-based practices to optimize early treatment for patients with T2D and overweight/obesity to improve long-term outcomes.

US primary care physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician associates/physician assistants (PAs).

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Modify treatment regimens according to the latest evidence and guideline recommendations that reflect the importance of early therapy intensification to meet individualized needs of patients with T2D
  • Select the most appropriate incretin-based therapies for the treatment of patients with overweight or obesity and T2D
  • Apply patient-centered strategies that address sustained weight loss as a primary treatment target for T2D
